Spring is a wonderful season and women who fit in the spring beauty profile are truly blessed. Gentle, warm skin, bright eyes, and shiny hair. This is hard to believe, but there are spring colors that can elevate this beauty to a whole new level.
Spring colors are warm and highly saturated and have this spring freshness. Isn’t that amazing? God beautifully created a world with such a lovely season as spring and then the fantastic ladies whose beauty resembles that.
I hope that if you are spring, you already feel flattered 🙂
Now, let’s go to these lovely colors you came here for!
True Spring
As in every beauty type, one can find at least three subtypes. When it comes to spring, there is the center type – true spring – and then on two opposite sides are the bright spring and the light one.
They are all similar enough to share more or less the same color palettes – the shades either become brighter or darker.
Yet, I do not want you to worry your pretty head too much about these details. Your beauty type is spring if your:
- skin is warm and bright, with golden undertones – sometimes with freckles
Now, if you are not sure what warm or cool skin tone means, there is a simple trick to check that. Look at your wrist and the veins – do they appear more blue or olive? If it leans towards blue – your skin is cool. Oive – warm. A mixture of both? Neutral.
- your eyes are warm blue, green, topaz, or hazel
- your hair has warm tones – spring colors of hair are for example copper, strawberry blonde, or warm shades of brown
If you are not sure which spring subtype you fall into, I’ve described the bright one and the light one a little bit further in the article. Also, if you want a big and comprehensive guide to all spring colors and spring subtypes.
But if the description above seems like your gorgeous beauty, then we can move on to your best spring colors:
Spring Colors:
Spring colors contain colors of flowers and I love it – you can find a variety of petals, green shades of leaves, and many more.
Green
Spring loves green – many shades will expose the warmth and brightness of your beauty, but there are a few that will do it better than the others.
The top 3 shades of green for every true spring are a spring bouquet, bright chartreuse, and first tee.
Blue
Spring should be careful with blue – not all the shades will look good since it is rather a cool color.
Yet, there are a few safe ones that will look great on a true spring – windsurfer, marina blue, and island paradise.
These shades will expose your brightness without creating too incohesive contrast.
Orange and Pink
Spring should avoid very vibrant pink and orange, but aim rather at brighter shades.
The top 3 are burnt coral, cayenne, and hibiscus. They are warm and gentle and will create a perfect harmony with your beauty.
Yellow
Pastel shades of yellow are your best friends – you can reach for sunshine, mimosa, and even amber.
Yellow is a warm color itself so the majority of the shades will look great on the true spring.
Such tones will expose your honey and golden hues and create a masterpiece. You will glow and shine – yes, that’s the magic of the right colors! 🙂
Brown
Darker and cool brown are not for you – you should stick to warm and saturated shades.
The best ones will be moonstone, pale gold, or – when it comes to more intense shades – Dachshund brown.
Such warm tones of brown are still spring colors and paired with more flowerish colors can create a lovely palette.
Bright Spring Colors
This subtype is still full of warmth and freshness yet it has more visible contrast and can be compared to the winter beauty type.
You are a bright spring if your:
- skin is bright – from fair to even tan – and warm with rather warm or neutral undertones
- eyes are shiny blue, green, or any shade of brown
- your hair color varies between medium blonde and auburn, or even warm shades of brown possibly with highlights
The bright spring palette implies a more vibrant version of the true spring one. True spring colors will also look good on you but you can focus rather on more pigmented shades.
For example – formal garden green, Hawaii blue, or even raspberry radiance.
A bright spring color palette also allows more shades of pink than the true spring does.
Light Spring Colors
Light spring is loving even warmer shades than the true spring does. You are a warm spring if your:
- skin is warm and has peachy tones
- your hair is blonde, light brown, or even ginger
- eyes are blue, green, light brown, or hazel
Your color palette is mostly pastels, less saturated shades than with the bright spring.
For example, your perfect shades are the Baltic Sea, lavender, strawberry cream, or golden haze.
These colors are gentle, yet still light and warm and will go in harmony with your beauty.
Spring Colors Combinations
There are no limits to combining spring colors. You can pair basically any shades from the palettes above and beyond.
The best way to combine colors is either by similarity or opposition. So for example you can pair burnt coral with marina blue just as well as with mimosa.
See? Blue and orange are opposite on any color chart, so combining various shades will always be successful.
The same with orange and yellow – they are next to each other so they will combine a harmonious couple, no matter the shade.
You can also match colors that are not opposite not analogous yet they will still play together well – every shade from the spring palette has a similar vibe, that’s why.
Not Spring Colors to Avoid
Since every spring is based on warmth, colors like pure black and white can make you look sad and pale. We don’t want that! We want a huge glow-up, right? 🙂
Luckily, there are alternatives – beige and peachy shades for white, medium-dark browns, and darker shades of green replacing black.
Basically, the worst colors for the spring are the cool and dark ones. They can make the most beautiful spring look aged and simply sadder.
Also, it is important not to use too saturated colors – sure, the bright spring can go a little bit further, but too bright or too intense can ruin the harmony of such a delicate beauty.
Of course, if a disharmonious color appears in a small dose, for example as an accent color or is a minority in a pattern, it is totally safe to wear it.
The key is to give the main role to the lovely spring colors 🙂
